The mean increases were 5.00 and 0.35, respectively. Physician assessments of beard appearance also favored minoxidil.

The trial used 3% minoxidil lotion twice daily. Ulo's beard formulas use 7% minoxidil in a liposomal gel once daily. The study supports the potential of topical minoxidil for beard growth, but it does not establish that Ulo's concentration or delivery system will produce the same results.
